You Are Powerful

I am writing out of guilt. So let's set that straight before we even get started.

I am frequently faced with the thought of "changing the world". The phrase in and of itself is daunting to some, including me. But there is hope right in front of me. I am continually inspired by friends and individuals who have made it their life's purpose to better the world we live in. The drive these people show can only come from a servant's heart. A heart that wants no praise for its efforts, but merely to get the job done. This heart wants only to help. This heart wants to save. This heart does not accept anything less.

I want this Heart.

An old friend once told me that I was inspiring. I laughed at the thought. Me inspiring someone? No way. But this person was sincere in their compliment. It got me thinking about individuals who are inspiring. The usual came to mind: Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, ect. And then it struck me. They were individuals. Everyday people that turned ideas into action. Action to a movement. A movement to a revolution.

Why can't we (that includes me) be activists? Movement starters? Revolutionists?! Why can't we be inspiring individuals? We can be. Every person has the ability to better this earth. Whether you believe it or not, YOU have the capability to change lives. Find something you're passionate about and DO it. Stop talking about it, and DO it. Take that chance, break down that fear. A person that means the world to me once told me to "jump now, fear later". I challenge you to the same. Always remember...

YOU ARE POWERFUL.

  1. bart,
    first off,
    i'm stoked you're writing a blog.
i've always thought you had some gnart in your head.
    secondly,
    yeah man,
you don't have to be the leader of some huge mass,
you don't have to be a powerful speaker,
you just have to change what you wish others would change for you.
    step it up, i suppose.
    i dug the first entry,
no doubt many more greats are to come.
    thanks for being rad.
